Set Yourself Up For Success & Make Your Fitness A Habit

Written by, Melissa McAllister How many times have you been pumped to start an exercise program and think to yourself, “This is it, I am going to crush this and make it Part. Of. My. Routine?  One sick kid or a deadline at work and POUF, just like that your routine is out the door.  Up to 80% of people who start a program do not stick to it.  Below are some ideas to help you stay on track. Set realistic goals and when you reach them celebrate!  This doesn’t mean you necessarily have to register for an Ironman, maybe it’s that you will walk around the block every night after dinner for a month. If you stick to it, that should absolutely be celbrated! Power in numbers.  Studies show that adherence to an exercise program is higher if you work with a friend or personal trainer. Someone to complain to, be accountable to, to push you when you don’t want to workout. Be open to trying new things.  There are so many options out there.  This takes out the boredom factor and working the same muscles over and over by doing the same thing.
